FIFTY REASONS I DON”T HAVE FIFTY REGRETS

1.        I try and make each day count

2.        I try and help as many as I can along the way

3.        I give generously

4.        I don’t eat junk food even semi regularly

5.        I enjoy even my challenging kids

6.        I am grateful for little things

7.        I achieved all my life goals by thirty five

8.        As far as it depends on me I have tried to live at peace with people

9.        I listen to encouraging music

10.    I have put others first most of the time

11.    I don’t hold grudges

12.    I don’t hate anyone

13.    I can see most people’s perspective

14.    I don’t spend lavishly

15.    I haven’t held my kids back even when what they did scared me

16.    I listen to opinions I disagree with

17.    I have read broadly

18.    I have travelled some

19.    I keep improving myself

20.    I have learned to forgive myself

21.    I keep moving forward

22.    I persevere even through hard things

23.    I don’t judge too many people J

24.    I never say I have done enough good in the world

25.    I enjoy sunsets

26.    I try to see as many sunrises as possible

27.    I look for northern lights and interesting stars regularly

28.    I unwrap favorite memories over and over

29.    I try to limit the amount of times I will think about

30.    My only addiction is timmies steeped tea

31.    I don’t watch much tv

32.    I don’t listen to much news

33.    I haven’t invested money badly and lost lots

34.    I am generally happy with my life

35.    I have life long friends

36.    I stay close to nature

37.    I stay close to God

38.    I don’t overwhelm myself with useless facts

39.    I have decluttered

40.    I have let go of things I lost – except my 64 chevy station wagon that I would like back!

From My Kids
1. To not give up
2. To try again (This is different than #1)...
3. To apologize about small things
4. To have fun
5. To not miss important lessons at Church
6. To bake lots of cookies and ignore how many disappear
7. Its ok to cry as much as you need till you are better
8. You don’t have to work all the time
9. Do laundry EVERY DAY
10. To be nice and help clean their rooms
11. To keep their important stuff safe for them
12. Vacations can be anywhere and don’t have to cost
13. Be with the people you are with (fully engage)
14. TV is unnecessary for survival
15. Cell phones are important communication tools
16. I don’t have to know everything
17. I am always there mom and they always need a constant
18. I am not perfect
19. I am the perfect mother for them
20. Cinnamon buns are some of the best retained memories
21. Shoes in summer are not important
22. You can never have too many stuffies
23. You will outgrow your stuffies
24. Modelling is just as important when they are adults
25. Your children are the best reason to continue to enjoy life

On the 27 days till bday – but got behind!)

1. Was pregnant with second child
2. Ran a youth group
3. Took youth group to rythym and news concert
4. Knew my soon to be born soon would be a drummer
(because of that concert! I had to leave)
5. Had a baby boy – Joel Thomas Dakota on June 25, 1992
6. Had my hair braided by my sister for the event
7. Missed my nephews baby shower as I was having his cousin
8. Worked at a greenhouse full time till I was two weeks overdue
9. Lived on a farm
10. Rode horses
11. Wrote poetry
12. Mowed the lawn
13. Had an under two child Hannah Grace Marie
14. Grew St. Joseph’s climbing coat roses
15. Grew Morning glories and nightscented stalks
16. Drove an two tone omega
17. Was a pastor’s wife
18. Found a wife for a friend
19. Babysat for others
20. A niece was also born that year
21. Suntanned
22. Went to Oregon
23. Attended Robert Cote’s wedding
24. Took my newborn and his sister camping
25. Went for walks
26. Spent time with friend Corinne
27. Attended a baby shower for Joel in Bashaw, AB
28. Decided I could achieve things in life even though I was a mom
29. Chose another son to come and live with us a year later
30. Enjoyed hayrides in winter with babies
31. Looked at lots of stars

37. Roasted hot dogs at narrows
38. Used an outdoor fire pit for three months bec oven was broken
39. Made zucchini casserole over fire

41. Went for walks and enjoyed birds
42. Carried my kicking screaming daughter a long ways when I was still pregnant
43. Shopped in small town grocery stores
44. Made a small house seem bigger
